Skin Protocol Rx began long before it had a name.

The Origin

Before it became a trend, it was a necessity.

Skin Protocol Rx began not in a lab—but in a kitchen.

Over 20 years ago, Linda D. Amend’s mother asked a simple question:

Why isn’t there anything that actually works?

Frustrated by products that overpromised and underdelivered, she couldn’t find skincare that was both effective and intentional. Too many ingredients. Too much noise. Not enough results.

So Linda—trained in chemistry and deeply curious about formulation—decided to create something herself.

Before It Was Standard

What started as small batches in her kitchen quickly became something more.

Linda began experimenting with ingredients that were not yet mainstream—
hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C, and amino acids.

At the time, these were not industry staples. They weren’t trending. They weren’t everywhere. But she saw what they could do.

She focused on how ingredients function—not how they sell.
How they interact. How they absorb. How they support the skin at a cellular level.

And most importantly—what happens when you remove everything unnecessary.

For two decades, Linda continued refining her approachLong before minimal skincare became a movement, she was already practicing it.

While the industry moved toward more—more ingredients, more steps, more complexity— she moved in the opposite direction.

Less, but better.

Today, the ingredients she worked with quietly for years have become the foundation of modern skincare.

But for Linda, they were never a trend.

They were always the standard.
